<p></p><div><p><b>Alamance County Public Libraries (ACPL) is seeking a children&rsquo;s Circulation Assistant.</b></p><p><b>
Within this position the Circulation Assistant will be expected to provide excellent customer service, interacting directly with library patrons at the Checkout and Children&rsquo;s Desk. Performs a variety of clerical tasks dealing primarily with the circulation of materials. Must be able to perform physically demanding duties related to checking in, checking out and shelving materials in a busy environment.</b></p><p><b>
This is a part-time &ndash; non-benefited role, 13 hour per week position including at least two evenings per week and two weekends per month.</b></p><p><b>
Best candidates will possess a strong commitment to provide excellent customer service including the ability to provide customer-focused service for a positive library experience and to relate tactfully and courteously with a wide range of diverse patrons and community members. Having a willingness to learn library trends, local community happenings, literature and popular reading trends in necessary.</b></p></div><p></p>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Promote ACPL&rsquo;s values and mission.</li><li>
Follow and enforce established library policies and procedures.</li><li>
Work all public service desks at May Memorial Public Library and other branches as needed.</li><li>
Assist with the maintenance of library collections.</li><li>
Assist patrons through reference interactions, reader advisory inquires and in the use of technology and online resources.</li><li>
Increase skills and knowledge through professional reading, workshops and webinars.</li></ul><ul><li>
Make new library cards for patrons.</li><li>
Help patrons locate items (in our library or at a branch)</li><li>
Check materials in and out on patron accounts, empty book returns.</li><li>
Organize returned items in alphabetical or numerical order in preparation to be re-shelved.</li><li>
Shelve library materials.</li><li>
Receive payments for fines and fees.</li><li>
Assist patrons with the Self-Check-out.</li><li>
Answer phones and route calls to appropriate staff.</li><li>
Call and write up holds, pull messages.</li><li>
Take responsibility for the appearance of the library, including the condition of shelves and displays.</li><li>

<br><div></div><div><div><div><p><b>Health Insurance</b> - Part-time employees are eligible for medical/health (Cigna Insurance) benefits upon the 1st of the month following the 30-day waiting period. Changes to elections can then be made during the annual open enrollment period, usually in the fall, or within 30 days of a qualified life event (marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child, change in child's dependent status, death of a spouse or other dependent and other change in employment status). Part-time insurance rates are structured based on hours worked.<br>

Alamance County Government currently offers three plans of medical/pharmacy benefit options including a COPAY Plan 70, COPAY Plan 80 and a QHDHP with HSA.<br>

<b>Dental &amp; Vision Insurance</b> - A voluntary dental (Delta Dental) and vision program (Superior Vision) is available to PT employees. The current PPO style plan allows employees to be provided access to dental and vision providers for a variety of services. The plan, if elected, would be effective the first of the month following 30 days of PT employment. Coverage must be elected within your first 30 days of PT employment or upon a qualifying event.<br>

<b>Retirement Benefits</b> - Membership in the NC Local Government Employees Retirement System (NCLGERS) is a requirement for all full-time and regular part-time employees (working more than 1,000 hours annually). Employees contribute six percent (6%) of their annual compensation before it is taxed. If you leave the County service before retirement, you may withdraw your retirement contributions or elect to freeze your contributions in anticipation of future local government employment. If you have at least five (5) years of service, you are considered 100% vested in NCLGERS. Alamance County will be contributing a percentage as required by NCLEGRS on your behalf as well.<br>

Retired employees under age 65 are also eligible to use the clinic. Depending on insurance coverage elected, care at the clinic ranges from free to a fair market value cost.<br>
