Minimum Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Emergency Management or related field.</li><li>
Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in public safety, law enforcement, emergency management, or public safety training.</li><li>
Minimum of five (5) years of team leadership experience.</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li><li>
CPR and Basic First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).</li></ul><p><b>

Public Safety Training Facility Leader

<div><p>Plans and coordinates laboratory activities to support instructional programs and provide tutorial services to students.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Duties and Responsibilities</b></h2></div>
<div><p>1. Oversees lab operations and identifies and notifies the Associate Dean of potential challenges and<br>
problems. Trains and supervises activities for students in a lab setting, and assists students with lab<br>
assignments and related problems.<br>
2. Makes recommendations regarding practices and procedures within the lab and maintains up to date<br>
MSDS documents of all chemical and hazardous materials that students and faculty are exposed to.<br>
3. Monitors and initiates orders for necessary supplies and consults with Associate Dean and instructional<br>
office assistant regarding purchase requisitions and budgets. Also maintains weekly inventory records so<br>
that supplies do not run out.<br>
4. Supervises industry related certification testing and keeps annual accreditation status current by<br>
monitoring all documents, quality manuals, and procedures and assures continuous compliance.<br>
5. Researches and advises Associate Dean of equipment needs and maintains current quotations on needed<br>
machines in the event that funds become available for capital equipment purchases.<br>
6. Maintains a complete accounting and inventory of equipment within the lab and monitors condition of<br>
equipment so that projections can be made on future needs and can be budgeted appropriately.<br>
Collaborates with inventory control on status and location of equipment and initiates the disposal of<br>
outdated and non-functional inventory.<br>
7. Operates and trains other personnel, both students and faculty, on the safe use of and routine<br>
maintenance of equipment.<br>
8. Trains and oversees part time lab facilitators on lab practices and procedures, assigns tasks as needed.<br>
9. Troubleshoots and repairs or coordinates repairs performed by vendors and verifies that repaired<br>
equipment is safe to release back into service.<br>
10. Prepares facilities for classes and ensures that work areas are clean and neat; ensures that equipment,<br>
materials, and handouts are laid out for classes.<br>
11. Monitors inventory of materials and supplies, initiates ordering process as needed.<br>

Services Corporation is a 501(c)3 organization within Central Piedmont which supports the college&rsquo;s vision, mission, educational and financial goals through innovative businesses and services.</p><p>
Youth Central is a small, diverse team dedicated to providing fun and engaging enrichment programs for 4th&ndash;12th graders while introducing them to the college environment at Central Piedmont.</p><b>
This is a seasonal position from June 22nd- Aug. 6th, 2026. Assistant is asked to be available the entire 7 weeks.</b><p><b><br>
General Function:</b></p><p>
The Lab Assistant supports the delivery of youth enrichment programs during the Fall, Spring, &amp;/or Summer session. This position assists instructors with classroom activities, helps facilitate a safe and engaging learning environment, and provides general administrative and operational support to ensure program success.</p><i>

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Duties and Responsibilities</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li>Engage students in a fun and positive manner</li><li>Assists with administrative preparation of camps</li><li>Organize student information and maintain accurate records for each camp session</li><li>Track dietary restrictions and allergies to ensure safety</li><li>Keep inventory of materials and supplies and clearly communicate the need for additional purchases</li><li>Model professionalism and accountability by adhering to the dress code and college policies</li><li>Responsibility and supervision of students during drop-off, pick-up, and classroom/camp time</li><li>Willing and able to multi-task, be timely, and resolve conflicts as they arise</li><li>At ease with communicating with students, parents/caregivers, and faculty/staff in a professional manner</li><li>Required to complete the college&rsquo;s ongoing compliance training in a timely manner</li><li>Report any notable concerns or incidents to the Assistant Director or Executive Director respectively.</li><li>Additional duties as assigned</li></ul></div><p></p>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required; must be 18 years of age or older</li><li>Strong organization, planning and communication skills</li><li>Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Ability and willingness to be committed to working scheduled camps</li><li>Dependable, approachable, patient, and sensitive to the needs of a diverse group of students</li><li>Ability to travel to Central Piedmont campuses with reliable transportation</li><li>Must be willing to conduct a background check</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication</li></ul><p><b>
Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Experience working with youth and families from diverse and cultural backgrounds either in a similar or related capacity</li><li>CPR/Basic First Aid certification a plus</li></ul></div><p></p>

Working Conditions:</b></p><p>
Typical office/classroom/camp environment; frequently lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs.; frequently twisting or bending at the waist or reaching overhead; potential traveling between buildings on campus or to other campuses; infrequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, mouse and telephone.</p></div></div></div><p></p>
