(Salary will be based directly on experience).Job SummaryThe Billing Supervisor will oversee the daily workflows of our centralized billing, coding, and accounts receivable teams within AdvancedMD. This role requires a working leader who can monitor daily claim submissions, track team productivity, analyze denial trends, and keep our Days in AR exceptionally low. The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced nature of urgent care billing (including global case rates, multi-state Medicaid rules, and walk-in eligibility challenges) and knows how to use AdvancedMD to keep the pipeline moving smoothly.Core Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>AdvancedMD Workflow Management: Supervise the daily distribution and processing of high-volume claims queues within AdvancedMD. Ensure clearinghouse rejections are resolved daily and claims are scrubbed and submitted without delay.</li><li>Team Supervision &amp; Auditing: Oversee, mentor, and audit the daily performance of billing specialists, payment posters, and AR staff. Establish daily production targets and conduct regular quality assurance checks on their work.</li><li>Denial &amp; AR Trend Analysis: Systematically review AdvancedMD aging reports across our 31 locations. Identify and resolve systemic multi-state denial patterns (such as modifier errors or credentialing issues) before they hit timely filing limits.</li><li>Urgent Care Coding Compliance: Ensure the team accurately applies place of service codes (POS 20), global urgent care codes (S-codes), and appropriate modifiers (e.g., 25, 59) based on individual state contracts.</li><li>Front-End Feedback Loop: Partner with clinic managers and front-desk teams across our 5 states to provide feedback on recurring front-end intake errors (missing demographics, incorrect primary insurance, unverified eligibility) to improve our clean claim rate.</li><li>Escalated Problem Solving: Handle escalated patient billing inquiries, complex insurance disputes, and senior-level underpayment appeals.</li></ul>Required Skills and Qualifications<ul><li>AdvancedMD Experience (Strictly Required): Must have 1 or more years of hands-on experience working within the AdvancedMD billing and reporting system.</li><li>Urgent Care Literacy: Deep understanding of high-volume urgent care billing workflows, insurance guidelines, deductibles, Medicare, and Medicaid.</li><li>Leadership Capabilities: Proven ability to manage, train, and keep a remote billing team motivated and productive.</li><li>Data Organization: Strong analytical skills; comfortable exporting and analyzing billing and collection data via Excel to track department KPIs.</li></ul>Experience and Education Requirements<ul><li>Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of professional medical billing experience, with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or senior role, preferably in a high-volume outpatient or urgent care setting.</li><li>Software: 1+ years of AdvancedMD experience (candidates must be willing to take an AdvancedMD technical assessment during the interview process).</li></ul>Please Note: To ensure an efficient review process, only candidates who meet the specified requirements regarding medical billing leadership, AdvancedMD experience, and realistic salary expectations will be considered. The person filling this role will be reporting to the Director of Operations and will be working alongside a collaborative and talented team. This schedule is around 45-hours/week, 8:00 AM-05:00 PM Detroit USA time Monday-Friday.We offer competitive pay, with comprehensive benefits including Medical Compensation, Sick leaves, Holiday leaves and much more. Job Summary:The Medical Billing Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for executing internal audit protocols across the medical billing and coding lifecycles. This professional monitors charge capture, claim form fields, modifier placements, and Accounts Receivable (AR) follow-up processes to ensure strict alignment with CMS guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and payer-specific policies. By analyzing error trends and delivering targeted coaching, the QA Officer actively minimizes claim denials, lowers Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and shields the healthcare organization from structural compliance risks.Core Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Routine Claims &amp; Process Audits: Conduct random and targeted internal audits on submitted claims, payment postings, and patient statements across multiple source systems (EHR/Billing software) to measure accuracy against established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).</li><li>Code Verification &amp; Compliance Tracking: Validate that applied ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes accurately reflect the clinical documentation. Screen pre-submission claims for upcoding, undercoding, unbundling errors, and missing modifiers using NCCI (National Correct Coding Initiative) edits.</li><li>Denial &amp; Rejection Root-Cause Analysis: Review clearinghouse rejections and insurance denials to pinpoint structural workflows or system glitches. Trend the data by team or individual to implement long-term corrective action plans.</li><li>Staff Feedback &amp; Coaching: Package audit metrics into clear, actionable reporting dashboards. Conduct standard calibration sessions and retraining with medical billers, coders, and AR specialists to reduce performance deficiencies.</li><li>Payer Guideline Management: Maintain an updated knowledge base of evolving state/federal regulations (Medicare, Medicaid) and commercial insurance policies. Ensure internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are updated to match quarterly code changes.</li><li>AR and Ledger Integrity Reviews: Meticulously review accounts receivable follow-up records to confirm that staff are properly appealing denials, managing outstanding balances ethically, and applying payment plans appropriately.</li></ul>Required Skills and Qualifications:<ul><li>In-Depth RCM Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end insurance claim lifecycle, commercial/government clearinghouse procedures, and medical terminology.</li><li>Advanced Coding Literacy: High proficiency interpreting guidelines within ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codebooks, alongside a firm grasp of payer-specific bundling rules.</li><li>Data-Driven Analysis: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to define distinct billing problems, extract performance data, establish root causes, and draw objective conclusions.</li><li>Communication &amp; Collaboration: Diplomatic, plain-language interpersonal communication style.
