About Our Opportunity</b></p>
<p>
We&rsquo;re looking for a proactive and commercially minded <b>UK Civils Estimating Co-ordinator</b> to join our Maintenance function. In this role, you&rsquo;ll play a key part in supporting civil engineering works across EMR&rsquo;s heavy industry operations &mdash; helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with budgets and business priorities.</p>
<p>
Working closely with sites, contractors, suppliers, finance, and the projects team, you&rsquo;ll coordinate estimates, materials, documentation, and job progress to keep civils works running smoothly across the UK.</p><br>

<p><b>
What You Will Be Doing</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Coordinating Major Maintenance Programme (MMP) and non-MMP civils works across the business.
</li><li>Liaising with civils contractors to obtain estimates, material quantities, and suitable timescales for works.
</li><li>Acting as a key contact for Finance Business Partners on estimates and approved budgets.
</li><li>Sourcing and negotiating pricing for materials with preferred suppliers.
</li><li>Managing contractor and supplier relationships, including regular reviews and cost control.
</li><li>Raising purchase orders for labour and materials and ensuring sites and contractors are kept informed.
</li><li>Reviewing invoices, job paperwork, and updating purchase orders before processing.
</li><li>Arranging muck away for non-hazardous materials and helping establish preferred suppliers and pricing.
</li><li>Tracking jobs, costs, and material pricing to report on savings and support budget planning.
</li><li>Maintaining accurate records of works, pricing, and completion documentation.
</li><li>Supporting emergency or ad hoc civils works when required.</li><br>
</ul>
<p></p><p><b>About You</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience coordinating projects, contractors, budgets, or works programmes in a civils, construction, or maintenance environment.
</li><li>Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
</li><li>Confident managing multiple stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors.
</li><li>Good commercial awareness with the ability to track costs, negotiate pricing, and support budgets.
</li><li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
</li><li>Understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements within a construction or industrial setting.
</li><li>Able to work collaboratively across maintenance, finance, environmental, and site teams.

<li>Previous experience working with a civils contractor or within a civil engineering support role.

As a Training Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth organisation and administration of training courses, helping employees access the learning and development opportunities they need.</div><br>

Your responsibilities will include:</div>

<li>Coordinating, booking, and processing internal and external training courses.</li>
<li>Creating purchase order numbers using Dynamics 365 and processing virtual credit card requests.</li>

<li>Maintaining accurate training records and entering data into our Learning Management System (Dayforce).</li>
<li>Supporting general office administration and ordering office supplies.</li>
<li>Responding to enquiries from employees, managers, and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Meeting and greeting visitors to the training department.</li>
<li>Preparing training rooms and learning materials for EMR courses.</li>
<li>Managing NPORS awarding body administration.</li>
<li>Processing department invoices accurately and efficiently.</li>
<li>Liaising with hotels and caterers to arrange accommodation and refreshments for meetings and training courses.</li>

It takes a special type of person to be part of the Technical Training Team at EMR. They provide unrivalled support to the UK business on a daily basis, planning and coordinating plant and compliance courses across the UK through internal and external partners.</p>

As the Lead Coordinator in this team, you will build on your exceptional skills and be supported every step of the way in developing a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise of the company and the industry.</p><br>

What You Will Be Doing:</b></p>
<p>
Provide day-to-day support with all plant and compliance training activities at EMR. The role is responsible for leading the coordination of all training activities, acting as lead for the administration and coordination team. You will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide direction and support to Depot Coordinators and other colleagues that cover operational site and company-wide training.</li>
<li>Ensure that hospitality, room layout and equipment for participants attending workshops and events are arranged.</li>
<li>Identify potential new external suppliers through due diligence and following EMR procurement processes.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain accurate and easily accessible records and processes for all learning and development activities; including recording and monitoring attendance, ensuring that colleagues required to attend specific workshops are easily identified and followed up.</li>
<li>Ensure that good communication structures exists with line managers and delegates to ensure all staff colleague booked on events within agreed timeframes and understand the requirements to attend booked sessions.</li>
<li>Manage external supplier relationships, providing the right training to the right colleagues at the right time.</li>
<li>Maintain external accreditations where needed, such as NPORS.</li>
<li>Coordinate with external venue suppliers with all planning for off-site training.</li>
<li>Ensure evaluation forms are completed and returned for each training event. Lead on the processing of data and generating of reports based on this evaluation data.</li>
<li>Support the internal communications team with any operational training initiatives and communications.</li>
<li>Ensuring Purchase Orders are raised, received, invoiced and recharged.</li>
<li>Work closely with operational plant trainers and assessors, regional coordinators, DACs and capability leads to proactively plan training activities</li></ul><br>

You&rsquo;re organised, proactive, and have a strong <i>can-do</i> attitude. You work well as part of a team, enjoy being hands-on, and have good customer service and communication skills. You&rsquo;re comfortable working in a busy environment - be this on site or in the office - coordinating day-to-day activities, and supporting training programmes. If you like keeping things running efficiently and seeing people develop, this role could be right up your street!</p>
