Our engineers take pride in helping clients succeed and supporting one another along the way.About the RoleWe are seeking a Tier 1 Field Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who has existing MSP experience, enjoys hands-on technical work, and thrives in a client-facing environment. You&rsquo;ll work closely with senior engineers, receiving consistent mentorship while owning day‑to‑day technical tasks both in the field and in our Foster City office.This position includes travel to client sites throughout the Bay Area. A reliable vehicle is required; mileage reimbursement is provided.What You&rsquo;ll DoAs a Tier 1 Field Engineer, you will handle frontline technical support and onsite work with a focus on professionalism, ownership, and delivering high-quality results. Responsibilities include:Workstation &amp; User Support<ul><li>Perform computer deployments and hardware setups</li><li>Handle workstation troubleshooting, Wi-Fi issues, and small onsite technical needs</li><li>Configure printers and basic network-connected devices</li></ul>User Administration &amp; Cybersecurity<ul><li>Perform MFA setup, password resets, and account troubleshooting</li><li>Install endpoint protection and ensure devices meet security requirements</li></ul>Cloud Platform Support<ul><li>Complete standard M365 administration tasks (license assignment, mailbox creation, configuration)</li><li>Perform basic Google Workspace administration tasks</li></ul>Networking &amp; Low-Risk Projects<ul><li>Conduct basic networking troubleshooting</li><li>Complete low-risk project work such as switch replacements and access point installations</li></ul>Field &amp; Onsite Duties<ul><li>Provide onsite support to clients across the Bay Area</li><li>Represent IT Total Care professionally during client interactions</li><li>Collaborate closely with senior engineers, who will triage incoming tickets</li></ul>Other<ul><li>Rare participation in after-hours emergencies (most handled by senior engineers)</li><li>Ability to lift up to 30 lbs for equipment handling</li></ul>What We&rsquo;re Looking ForExperience<ul><li>Minimum 1 year of MSP experience required</li><li>Strong foundational IT knowledge and comfort working directly with clients</li></ul>Technical Skills<ul><li>Solid Windows troubleshooting fundamentals</li><li>Experience with workstation setups and common business software</li><li>Familiarity with M365 and Google Workspace administration</li><li>Basic understanding of networking (DHCP, DNS, switching, Wi-Fi)</li><li>No certifications required</li></ul>Soft SkillsWe place high value on personal qualities that make a great teammate and trusted client partner:<ul><li>Ownership and accountability</li><li>Trustworthiness and reliability</li><li>Level-headedness in fast-moving environments</li><li>Strong communication and professionalism</li><li>A collaborative, team-first mindset</li></ul>Operational Expectations<ul><li>Reliable vehicle required (mileage reimbursed)</li><li>Primarily standard business hours</li><li>Occasional early or late site visits (rare)</li></ul>Growth PathWe are committed to developing our engineers. Over 10 weeks, you&rsquo;ll participate in our structured training program and work directly with three senior engineers.
