The ideal candidate would be one who embraces the SJS mission and who is looking for a place to be respected and supported.SJS is seeking a substitute teacher for a two- to three-month period (now to December).Essential Responsibilities<ul><li>Establishes a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to learning</li><li>Designs and implements authentic and engaging learning experiences using WV College and Career Readiness Standards</li><li>Adheres to SJS assessment and grading policy and guidelines</li><li>Collaborates with other teachers in order to share best practices and provides meaningful feedback regularly</li><li>Communicates regularly with parents</li><li>Provides extra support to students who need it</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or associate degree from an accredited university or college</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators and parents</li><li>Able to speak in a voice that is understandable and clear</li><li>Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications, excellent human-relations skills</li><li>Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel</li></ul>**Prior educational experience is desirable.Job Types: Full-time, TemporaryPay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hourWork Location: In person
