<p>
The program assistant is the administrative liaison for a multi-faceted program under the direct supervision of the clinic office manager and serves as primary contact and resource to program staff, individuals served, and visitors for administrative information and technical assistance. Responds to questions, requests, or needs based on specific knowledge of the program and its operations.</p><br>
<p></p>
<p>
The program assistant is responsible for overseeing patient flow and ensuring the clinic&rsquo;s administrative needs are being met. Resolves routine administrative problems independently and registers new individuals during open access in a timely manner, check-in and check-out clients for their appointments, schedules hospital discharge appointments, and answer telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner. Verifies authorization, treatment plans, connects orders for service, consent, and eligibility for future appointments.</p><br>

This position will maintain databases, logs, and other records of routine information. Responds to requests for information and maintains an organized and accessible filing system and follows confidentiality regulations regarding maintenance and release of file information.</p><br>

<p>
Under general supervision, performs a variety of general secretarial, clerical, and administrative support functions/processes or a few specialized or essential clerical functions in support of a unit or office and related personnel. May enter data and/or process documents and records. The work includes operating standard office equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative supervisor.</p><br>

Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul><li>
Provides excellent customer services to welcome individuals, families, and visitors. Provide brief screening and assist with client registration and orientation into services.</li><li>
Answer inbound calls, schedule appointments and check voicemails.</li><li>
Check insurance, receive co-pays, send billing tickets.</li><li>
Log and upload pertinent client documents received from external outlets into electronic medical records.</li><li>
Document any important information being communicated to clients over the phone or in-person.</li><li>
Check clients electronic record and complete any necessary documentation or pending appointments to be scheduled.</li><li>
Maintain communication between clients, clinicians, and supervisors.</li><li>
Assist with maintaining office supplies and keeping work areas organized.</li></ul></div></div><p></p><div><div><br>
<p><b>
Minimum Qualifications:</b></p>
<ul><li>
High school diploma or GED AND Two (2) years of general office or administrative experience.</li></ul><br>

Preferred Qualifications:
</b></p><ul><li>Minimum one (1) year experience working in a medical/mental health setting.</li><li>
Bilingual is a plus.</li><li>
Outgoing, engaging, and personable communication skills.</li><li>
Experience working in a medical or psych office, or DBHDD.</li><li>
Experience using Carelogic or other electronic record systems.</li><li>
Excellent computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Med Terminology are essential.</li><li>

<p>
The Law Enforcement/Co-Responder Program is a partnership with Newton County law enforcement agencies and View Point Health aimed at reducing the incarceration of mentally ill individuals and linking them with treatment. The programs pairs behavioral health clinicians with officers and deputies to respond together in situation of mental health crisis. The clinician performs brief assessments consulting with the officers to determine appropriate dispositions for services, arrests, diversion from arrests, diversion from unnecessary emergency department visits, or some combination of criminal justice/behavioral health treatment involvement. The clinician also facilitates training for police officers to increase competencies in intervening with a behavioral health crisis. The clinician will work in conjunction with and collaboratively as part of the Emergency Service Provider.</p><br>

<p><b>
Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul><li>
Provide rapid crisis intervention and assessment to individuals who have come to the attention the of police, on an as-needed basis.</li><li>
Provide face to face or telephonic follow-up with persons served when clinically indicated.</li><li>
Accompany police officers on patrol as allowed by officer in charge.</li><li>
Work in collaboration with police to ensure that persons with behavioral health needs are appropriately diverted from the criminal justice system and referred for appropriate behavioral health services.</li><li>
Work in collaboration with VPH outpatient clinics and other programs to ensure the individuals are linked to services.</li><li>
Provide and/or coordinate, as needed training to police personnel regarding behavioral health, substance use, trauma spectrum disorders, and other behavioral health topics as identified.</li><li>
Compile and submit monthly statistics.</li><li>
Act as primary liaison mental health community providers and Law Enforcement.</li><li>
Establish and maintain regularly scheduled, and as needed, contact with the Court Clinicians to optimize appropriate dispositions and outcomes.</li><li>
Establish and maintain regularly scheduled Community Police Collaborative meetings of all Stakeholders and community providers.</li><li>
Perform needed case management duties aimed are reducing future encounters with law enforcement.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Minimum Qualifications:</b></p>
<p>
Master's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND eligibility to be licensed AND Two years of supervised experience in the area of assignment.</p>

Preferred Qualifications:</b></p>

Experience working with the Severe and Persistently Mentally Ill population, ACT teams, or individual identified as being frequent users of ERs, Psychiatric Hospitals, Crisis Stabilization Units, and the criminal justice system..</li><li>
Case management experience.</li><li>
Experience working in a high stress, fast-pace environment with a very emotionally and physically changing population.</li><li>
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.</li><li>
Ability to Multi-task and manage time.</li><li>

Oversee daily operations of the Center by managing front office staff and client relations and achieving operational goals.
