Note: : Applicants should be based in or near Coral Springs, FL 33076. Tutors within approximately 5–15 miles of the area are encouraged to apply, including nearby locations such as Coral Springs (33065, 33067, 33071, 33073, 33076), Parkland (33067), Tamarac (33319, 33321), Sunrise (33322, 33323), and Margate (33063, 33068).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions focused on elementary reading instruction.
• Support development of reading comprehension, fluency, and foundational literacy skills.
• Reinforce confidence-building strategies alongside academic support, especially for test preparation.
• Adapt instruction based on the student’s learning style, pace, and engagement level.
• Prepare structured and age-appropriate learning materials for each session.
• Maintain a supportive, consistent, and positive learning environment.
• Travel to the designated tutoring location, including in-home or approved meeting spaces.
• Communicate updates on progress and scheduling with the assigned coordinator.

Schedule:

• Preferred: Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• Secondary option: Monday (starting at 5:00 PM or later)
• More flexibility available during the summer

Student Notes:

• Focus on Reading support with emphasis on confidence-building and test preparation
• Requires consistent encouragement and academic reinforcement

Commitment:

• Approximately 2 hours per week

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field preferred
• Prior experience in tutoring or teaching elementary students is an advantage
• Strong foundation in early literacy instruction
• Patient, reliable, and able to engage young learners effectively
• Ability to adjust teaching strategies to individual student needs
• Must have reliable transportation if travel is required
• Must reside near or within commuting distance of Coral Springs, FL

Licensing / Certification Requirements:

• Teaching certification is a plus but not required

Compensation:

• $27.00 – $33.00 per hour
