THE POSITION

Do you enjoy working outdoors, operating specialized equipment, and performing skilled manual tasks? The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking an experienced and dependable 3 Year Limited Term Game Lands Maintenance Worker for our State Game Lands. This position allows you to utilize your specialized skill set to maintain land, facilities, infrastructure, habitat, and resource areas in order to provide opportunities for lawful hunting and trapping. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1, you will be performing semi-skilled work and assisting with other essential duties. For example, you will assist with the maintenance, repair, and construction of bridges, roads, parking areas, gates, posting signs, ranges, and more. You will also have the opportunity to assist with mowing, habitat management, and other duties as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • 3 Year Limited Term, Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. AWS (alternate work schedule) may apply.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment; or
  • One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment; or
  • One year of construction equipment operation experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • This position will require you to obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver’s License within one year of employment in this job.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
