3D Designer

Objective is to create Detailed Shop Drawings of Pipe Supports for Sales/Estimating and Production. These will be utilized for customer approval, estimating, engineering and shop fabrication. Position will also be creating 3D Models and Dimension Schedules of client's standard products.

Skills

• Detailer/Drafters will spend the majority of their time working in CADD programs, so proficiency with computers and software is required
• The use of three-dimensional (3D) modeling is a must
• Knowledge of steel construction/fabrication and estimating
• Ability to create BOM’s
• Communication skills are very important in order to communicate with employees and customers.
• Auto Cad 2015 - Knowledge of structural steel shapes
• 3D Auto Cad

Job Duties

• Create project drawings from blueprints, sketches and photos
• Work with a team of people and may need to communicate and collaborate with several types of professionals
• Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software
• Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers and architects
• Help design products with engineering and manufacturing techniques
• Add details to plans from their knowledge of fabrication techniques
• Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers and architects
• Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for products
• Work with engineers, sales/estimating and shop regarding supervisor’s instructions

Software requirements

• Cadworx (Structure) – a must
• AutoCad Inventor/ Revit – a must
• Plant Design (PDMS) – preferred
• Tekla (Structures/ PowerFab) – preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
