About the student
- 4th grade student
- The student needs to work with a tutor for ASL.
- The student is a 9-year-old student who is homeschooled and has special needs, including an auditory processing disorder. She is hard of hearing and is actively working to strengthen her communication skills through ASL, with the goal of using it to her fullest advantage. She is also currently in ABA therapy and receives structured support, but her family is seeking additional tutoring to help her build confidence, ensure she continues progressing, and expand her ability to effectively communicate and learn.
- The family would prefer one tutor but is open to working with multiple tutors. They are looking for a tutor who can commit to a consistent schedule long-term and build a rapport with the student.
- The main goal is to develop the student's full ability and confidence in using ASL as her primary means of communication. Tutoring should focus on reinforcing her ASL skills, supporting her auditory processing needs, and fostering confidence in her ability to communicate and succeed.
- The family wants 1 hour sessions 7 days a week, Monday through Friday, between 9am-2pm.
- The family is seeking a tutor who can meet at their home in Manhattan Beach.
