Responsibilities:

1. Academic Guidance

Help students choose courses, subjects, and academic programs that align with their career goals and interests.

Assist with understanding academic requirements, such as credits, majors, and prerequisites.

Monitor academic progress and help students set and achieve educational goals.

2. Career Counseling

Provide guidance on career options, opportunities, and pathways based on the student’s strengths, interests, and aspirations.

Help students understand job market trends and how their academic choices impact future career opportunities.

Assist with college and university selection, application processes, and scholarships.

3. Emotional and Social Support

Offer support to students who may be dealing with personal, social, or emotional issues affecting their academic performance.

Refer students to appropriate mental health services or resources as needed.

Organize workshops and programs to enhance students’ social skills, emotional intelligence, and stress management.

4. Study Planning and Time Management

Assist students in creating effective study plans and strategies for exam preparation.

Provide guidance on balancing academic responsibilities with extracurricular activities.

Help students develop time management skills to handle academic workloads effectively.

5. Coordination with Parents and Teachers

Regularly communicate with parents about the student’s academic progress and any concerns.

Work with teachers to ensure students are receiving the support they need in the classroom.

Act as a mediator between students, parents, and teachers when conflicts arise.

6. Identifying Learning and Behavioral Issues

Detect early signs of learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, or emotional distress in students.

Collaborate with educators and specialists to address and manage these issues effectively.

Provide customized support to students with special needs or learning disabilities.

7. Organizing Counseling Sessions and Workshops

Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions to discuss educational goals, academic challenges, and career planning.

Organize workshops on topics like career development, study techniques, and personal growth.

8. Maintaining Student Records

Keep detailed records of student interactions, counseling sessions, academic progress, and career goals.

Ensure confidentiality of student information and maintain ethical standards in counseling practices.

9. Encouraging Extracurricular Involvement

Motivate students to participate in extracurricular activities that complement their academic growth.

Help students find balance between academic responsibilities and interests in sports, arts, or other extracurricular pursuits.

10. Assisting with Admission and Transition

Provide support to students during key transitions such as moving from high school to college or preparing for higher studies.
