POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Academic Support Services Manager, the Academic Prep Instructor will work with teachers, counselors, and administration to ensure student learning and academic success within the classroom, while also helping to oversee the operations of the Learning Commons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Monitor student academic progress by regularly tracking student grades via PowerSchool and communicating with instructors

Planning in support of student academic progress and achievement

Build relationships with students to better support them academically

Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to provide an environment conducive to learning

Connect students to appropriate academic resources and assistance

Attend Academic Watch meetings when academic intervention is necessary

Observe and evaluate student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
-
Maintain accurate and complete student records per school policy

Enforce all school policies and rules governing students
-
Communicate with students, parents, other faculty, staff, counselors, and administrators regarding relevant academic and behavioral issues

Carry out safety and emergency procedures per school policy

Maintain appropriate professional interaction with students, parents, administrators, co-workers, and other colleagues

Coordinate the Testing Center, and proctor make-up tests for students
-
Oversee the Learning Commons space that includes peer tutoring, computer use, and students with free periods
-
Attend school functions, faculty meetings, in-service events, conferences, retreats, and workshops

Education
BA or BS Degree
Experience
Related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, AND CLEARANCES

Cleared Background/Fingerprint check

Valid CPR and First Aid certifications

Cleared TB assessment

Completion of Ministry Safe Training
