About the Role
The Academics Head will lead the academic vision, curriculum strategy, and learning experience design for our LMS ecosystem. This role demands a visionary education leader who understands modern pedagogy, digital learning frameworks, curriculum alignment across boards, and large-scale content operations.
The ideal candidate is someone who has previously served as an Academics Head, preferably within an EdTech/LMS organization, and is capable of translating traditional schooling standards into engaging, measurable, and scalable digital learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Strategy & Leadership
- Develop, refine, and implement the academic roadmap for the LMS platform aligned to organizational goals.
- Lead cross-functional academic initiatives, including curriculum innovation, module design, learning pathways, assessments, and teacher enablement.
- Ensure content aligns with CBSE, ICSE, and IGCSE standards and international best practices.
2. Curriculum Design & Content Development
- Oversee end-to-end curriculum planning for K–12, Skill Development, STEM, and other digital learning programs.
- Guide content developers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and instructional designers in producing structured, engaging, and culturally relevant content.
- Review and approve curriculum, lesson plans, assessments, worksheets, digital modules, and LMS learning objects.
- Introduce innovative pedagogy, gamification, micro-learning, outcome-based instruction, and blended learning strategies.
3. Academic Quality Assurance
- Establish and maintain academic quality benchmarks to ensure high rigor, relevance, and learner engagement.
- Implement structured review cycles, academic audits, and feedback loops for continuous improvement.
- Monitor learner performance data to drive content refinement and improve learning outcomes.
4. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage a large multi-disciplinary academic team including content developers, teachers, SMEs, instructional designers, and reviewers.
- Develop training modules, capacity-building programs, and performance KPIs for academic teams.
- Mentor team leads, ensure timely delivery, and streamline academic workflows.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment
- Work closely with the Product, Technology, Operations, and Delivery teams to ensure smooth integration of academic components into the LMS.
- Collaborate with schools, teachers, and educational partners for pilot programs, feedback, validation, and academic partnerships.
- Represent the academic vision in leadership meetings and cross-functional discussions.
6. Academic Innovation & Digital Transformation
- Introduce new methodologies such as personalized learning, adaptive algorithms, outcome mapping, AI-driven recommendation systems, and competency-based progressions.
- Ensure the academic team effectively uses digital tools, content-authoring platforms, and LMS functionalities.
- Conduct research on emerging global education trends and integrate them into the LMS ecosystem.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed, MA Education, or equivalent).
- Mandatory: Previously worked as an Academics Head (minimum 5–8 years in academic leadership).
- Preferred: Experience working in an LMS, EdTech, or digital learning environment.
- Strong understanding of CBSE, ICSE, and IGCSE curricula and academic standards.
- Proven experience in managing large academic teams, SMEs, teachers, and content creators.
- Strong instructional design principles, pedagogical knowledge, and understanding of learner psychology.
- Excellent computer proficiency and familiarity with digital tools, content management systems, and authoring platforms.
- A track record of academic innovation, problem-solving, and design thinking.
