Position Summary

The Academy IT Support Specialist is responsible for managing the Academy help desk and providing Tier 1–2 technical support to staff and students. This role ensures day-to-day technology operations run smoothly across the Academy while allowing infrastructure-focused roles to remain focused on systems, security, and network operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the help desk ticket queue
  • Prioritize and resolve Tier 1–2 support requests
  • Document issues, resolutions, and recurring trends
  • Escalate issues to the Systems Administrator when appropriate
  • Troubleshoot laptops, desktops, iPads, and Chromebooks
  • Perform device imaging, setup, and deployment
  • Manage 1:1 student device lifecycle (distribution, collection, tracking)
  • Support user login, account access, and application issues
  • Troubleshoot classroom AV systems, displays, and presentation tools
  • Assist teachers with classroom technology and instructional tools
  • Support connectivity between devices and classroom systems
  • Troubleshoot computers, user software, printers, and peripheral devices
  • Resolve basic network and connectivity issues
  • Support day-to-day technology needs across campus

Requirements

  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Alignment with the mission and core values of Real Life Christian Academy
  • CompTIA A+ certification (required or in progress)
  • 2+ years of hands-on IT support experience (preferred)

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, ChromeOS, and iOS devices
  • Experience with device deployment, imaging, and management tools (MDM, Google Admin, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace
  • Experience supporting printers, AV systems, and peripherals
  • Ability to resolve Tier 1–2 issues independently with strong ticket management and documentation practices
  • Ability to prioritize based on urgency and impact using a help desk/ticketing system
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms
  • Patient and professional when supporting staff and students with a service-oriented mindset
  • Strong time management, multitasking ability, and detail-oriented with consistent follow-through
  • Ability to work independently and escalate when needed

Background Screening Requirement

All candidates considered for employment with Real Life Christian Academy are required to complete a fingerprint-based background screening in accordance with Florida Department of Education requirements. This process is managed through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Clearinghouse.
