Accessories Buyer's Assistant and Sales Associate

JOB OVERVIEW

Poor Richard’s is a locally-owned, socially-conscious business in downtown Colorado Springs, founded in 1975. We are seeking a retail professional to join our team as our Accessories Buyer’s Assistant, a position that is on a career-track for a buying position in the near future. The position includes both service counter work as well as office time. On the counter, the Sales Associates assist customers while receiving incoming merchandise and doing other administrative duties. On the floor, the Buyer's Assistant does stocking and visual merchandising, and manages physical inventory. In the office, the Buyer's Assistant assists with buying admin, including placing merchandise reorders.

This is a great position for someone who enjoys fashion and stays up on fashion trends.

The hours at the beginning of this position are evenings from approximately 12-8 or 9 PM with two days off during the week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides warm, welcoming customer service at the front sales counter for more than half of the time at work
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Accessories Buyer and buying team by creating and tracking purchase orders, receiving and inspecting shipments, maintaining accurate records of orders, placing reorders, etc.
  • Manages physical inventory, monitors stock levels, reporting sales trends to the Buyer
  • Maintains and stocks displays
  • Assists the Buyer in visual merchandising and display resets
  • Makes product recommendations based on fashion trends

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a retail setting that includes providing warm, welcoming customer service
  • Strong administrative skills - organized and detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping. Proficiency with Microsoft office. Excel experience is a plus
  • Loves fashion and stays up on trends
  • Visual merchandising or other design or art experience
  • The ability to handle multiple duties, prioritize tasks effectively, and remain calm, focused and productive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a partnership and team as well as being a motivated self-starter
  • Being an avid reader is a plus
  • Willing and able to work evenings and weekends
  • Excellent professional references

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
