JOB OVERVIEW
- The Account Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans, which include work with internal and external audiences to develop and expand relationships with referral sources including physicians, employers, case managers and other various groups.
- The purpose of these relationships is to drive business to multiple Madonna business lines, focusing primarily on the Outpatient Therapy and Physician Services lines of business.
- Requires selling in the community, primarily traveling to physician and case manager meetings, giving presentations and marketing programs.
- This includes education to providers of programs and services, coordination of educational offerings and process improvements to meet referral source needs.
- Success will be measured through customer feedback studies, referral statistics, patient registrations and revenue growth.
- Collaborates with team members in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to increase utilization of services across business lines and align with achieving department and organizational goals.
- Serves as primary contact and planner for local marketing events and community sponsorships.
- Ensures accurate and complete communication across business lines.
- Work will be performed in an ethical and legal manner following organizational policies, processes, protocols and procedures.
Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer relations for Madonna as a whole, including upholding the mission and values for the department and facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Creates and coordinates strategic marketing and referral development plans for Outpatient Therapy and Physician Services.
- Tracks and analyzes visits to referral sources including type of contact, issues identified, people involved in problem solving and resolution.
- Evaluates and analyzes marketing plans, developing strategies to increase volumes.
- Attends conferences for networking and business development opportunities.
- Coordinates and executes all internal and external sales and marketing events, such as conferences and lunch and learn sessions to support referral and sales targets.
- Assists with strategies related to market penetration, competitive analysis, customer segmentation, and new product development and positioning.
- Responsible for tracking and reporting sales activity including prospects, conversion rates, referrals to programs; must generate monthly activity report to share with business leaders.
- Proactively identify changes in healthcare, delivery systems, and competitive pressures to develop and modify strategies and tactics accordingly.
- Promotes Madonna programs in all formal and informal relationships.
- Communicates with physicians, case managers and community audiences to ascertain customer perspective, primarily off-site and in the community.
- Meets and greets customers throughout all aspects of the job ensuring excellent customer experiences and favorable relationships.
- Works collaboratively with system and business leaders and directors for business line growth.
- Sells business line services through speaking engagements on and off site, touring individuals and groups, attending community events.
- Serves as brand ambassador by representing Madonna at community events and with civic organizations; assists with managing all external sponsorships.
- Cultivates and maintains an awareness and understanding of programs and activities of agencies, groups, organizations and individuals who have a special or general interest in the outpatient, physician and retail services of Madonna.
- Uses professional networking to develop positive external relationships and to identify areas of future development, collaboration and joint ventures.
- Fosters and develops referral source relationships including physicians, physician extenders, office managers, case managers and employers.
- Follows instructions from immediate supervisor and business leaders to perform other functions as assigned.
- Communicates regularly to Madonna staff regarding referral relations statistics and results of marketing visits.
- Coordinates events and activities that will lead to increased revenue and retention.
- Utilizes computer to organize information and reports.
- This includes word processing, spreadsheets, database, internet, email, CRM, and other software applicable to the expectations of the position.
- V. Handles and operates all necessary equipment and perform required duties according to the established safety standards to maintain compliance with regulations and to prevent injuries.
- Provides and operates a motor vehicle and travel as necessary in order to fulfill position duties.
- Communicates in a timely fashion to business line leaders and assists with timely resolution of any customer concerns.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Must have a diplomatic demeanor and be able to present the facility and its services in a professional manner. Must constantly demonstrate a dedication to addressing consumer needs and must be able to differentiate those needs among diverse consumer groups. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, articulate and professional manner. Must be self-motivated to seek opportunities to expand Madonna's referral base and satisfy referral source needs. Must have excellent negotiating skills.
Must have constant near visual acuity with ordinary hearing and speaking skills. Must be available to lift maximum of 25 pounds and frequent lift and carry of 15 pounds. Frequent grasping of both hands requiring normal grip strength based on national averages.Must tolerate frequent external travel and inside mobility, walking and standing throughout the work shift.
Must be able to independently move throughout facility and while traveling to sites and meetings in the community, 80% of time is to be spent in the field and 20% office. Mobility required to travel as needed for a variety of purposes and events.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/training and/or Experience)
- Graduate of an accredited college or university required, preferably with a degree in marketing, sales, or a health related field.
- Two years sales experience in healthcare required.
- Must have excellent sales and customer services skills.
- Proficient use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Must possess effective skills in negotiation, conflict management, and consensus building.
- Must possess well-developed written and verbal communication and problem solving skills.
- Must maintain valid Nebraska driver’s license and proof of good driving record.
