Accountant

Muscat, Oman

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial policies, and internal controls.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Compliance) on revenue recognition, transaction processing, and financial automation.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, including vendor management and invoicing processes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and assist with audit preparation.
  • Utilize accounting software and fintech tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or proprietary systems) to optimize workflows.
  • Contribute to financial analysis, cost tracking, and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus).
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a tech or fintech environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing startup environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with fintech products such as digital wallets, payment processing, or crypto assets.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations relevant to fintech (e.g., SOX, AML, PCI compliance).
  • Experience working with automation tools and APIs for financial data.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to RO500.000 per month
