Accountant

Job Title: Accountant with Contracting Experience

Role Summary:

Responsible for managing financial operations related to contracting projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, compliance with contract terms, and timely reporting to support project delivery and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and monitor budgets for contracting projects, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs
• Track actual vs. projected expenses and provide variance analysis to project managers
• Review and process supplier invoice, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoices
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
• Maintain accurate records of project-related transactions and prepare monthly financial reports
• Support audits and financial reviews related to contract performance and billing
• Manage accounts payable/receivable specific to contracting activities
• Assist in preparing claims, change orders, and financial documentation for client billing
• Bank reconciliation & fixed asset (FA) registration

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in accounting within a contracting or construction environment
• Strong understanding of project-based accounting, cost control, and contract compliance
• Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems)
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
