Accountant

Kuwait City, Kuwait

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to manage and oversee various financial and accounting functions, specifically within contracting projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general accounting, financial reporting, and project-based cost control, with hands-on experience using accounting software and Microsoft Office tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash Flow Management:

Manage and project company cash flow using rolling forecasts to ensure financial stability and liquidity.

  • Budget Control & Cost Allocation:

Monitor budgets, control expenses, and allocate costs across relevant cost centers and projects.

  • Project Accounting:

Track and manage project-wise expenses ensuring alignment with budgets and timelines.

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Oversee AP/AR functions to ensure timely billing, collections, and vendor payments.

  • Financial Reporting:

Prepare accurate monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) reports and financial statements.

  • Reconciliations:
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations
  • Handle intercompany reconciliations
  • Reconcile company records with supporting documentation to ensure accuracy
  • Month-End Close:

Support timely month-end closing by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting reports.

  • Compliance & Accuracy:

Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies, GAAP standards, and company protocols.

  • Administrative Accounting Tasks:

Handle daily operations such as managing invoices, petty cash, payroll activities, and maintaining financial records.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work as an effective team player and collaborate with project managers and other departments.

  • Flexibility:

Be willing to work extended hours and take on additional assignments when necessary.

  • Requirements:
  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance

  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or contracting projects
  • At least 2 years in a general accounting role
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with accounting software and data entry
  • Advanced spreadsheet and analytical skills
