Job Title: Accountant – Restaurant
Job Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records of the restaurant, ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, monitoring expenses, and maintaining compliance with all accounting regulations. This role ensures that the restaurant’s financial health is maintained, enabling smooth operations and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping & Records Management
- Maintain accurate daily financial records, including sales, purchases, payroll, and expenses.
- Reconcile bank statements and POS (Point of Sale) system reports.
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Provide management with regular reports on revenue, costs, and profit margins.
- Cash Flow & Expense Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and ensure adequate funds for operations.
- Track vendor payments and manage accounts payable/receivable.
- Payroll & Compliance
- Prepare and process payroll accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, VAT regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist management in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Identify areas to reduce costs and improve profitability.
- Inventory & Cost Analysis
- Work with the kitchen and procurement team to monitor inventory levels.
- Track food and beverage costs and analyze variances.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, or similar) and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of VAT and tax regulations in the UAE (or applicable country).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
