Accountant role in an engineering company:

Job Title: Project Accountant
Location: Santoshpur (Kolkata)
Industry: Engineering / Construction
Experience Required: 3–7 years (preferably in engineering or infrastructure projects)
Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / CA (Inter) / MBA (Finance)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to manage and monitor financial aspects of engineering projects. The ideal candidate will oversee budgeting, cost control, billing, and financial reporting, ensuring accurate accounting and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control project budgets, cost allocations, and expenditures
• Prepare project-wise financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis
• Handle all accounting entries related to the project – material, labor, subcontractor, overheads, etc.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement team for financial data
• Manage vendor and subcontractor payments and reconciliation
• Track project cash flows, advance payments, and retentions
• Ensure timely client billing and follow-up for collections
• Prepare MIS reports for management review
• Assist in internal and external audits related to project financials
• Maintain compliance with tax regulations (GST, TDS, etc.)

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of project-based accounting and financial controls
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally, SAP, or ERP systems)
• Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot, v-lookup, etc.)
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience in engineering, EPC, or infrastructure industries
• Familiarity with construction accounting and contract billing

Salary - Upto 22 k

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
