Overview
The Accountant supports the Finance Department in fulfilling key financial and operational responsibilities. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing account analyses, assisting with month-end close processes, preparing journal entries, and contributing to projects focused on data reporting and process improvement. The Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monthly financial close process, including reviews, analyses, and distribution of internal and external financial information.
  • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and perform account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support audit processes, including the preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to audit inquiries.
  • Retrieve and compile data from financial systems such as PennChart, EPIC, Pennfor, and perform data mining from HPM.
  • Prepare and maintain ad hoc reports and financial forms as requested.
  • Participate in data and process improvement projects within the finance function.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company values, policies, and procedures.
  • Support additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA designation is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related roles preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., PennChart, EPIC, or similar) a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $38.74 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
