<Overview>
Join our dynamic finance team as an Accountant, where your expertise will drive accurate financial reporting and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. <Responsibilities>
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including bank, ledger, and intercompany accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Perform journal entries, month-end closing activities, and general ledger maintenance using accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts to provide insights into cash flow management and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist in internal audits related to financial reporting.
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and prepare detailed financial reports for management review.
- Mentor junior team members on technical accounting concepts, including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation procedures.
<Requirements>
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting within a public or private sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or Quicken; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and securities law is highly desirable.
- Experience with governmental or non-profit accounting is a plus.
- Ability to interpret complex financial concepts and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail; strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities.
