Accountant

Job Description:

As the General Accountant, you will oversee financial operations, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, prepare financial statements, and support financial planning. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Manage all accounting transactions, overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Publish timely financial statements and prepare budget forecasts.
• Support annual financial planning and financial health assessments.
• Generate DFSA regulatory returns and group financial reports, ensuring high accuracy.

Compliance & Taxation:

• Compute and file tax returns, ensuring VAT compliance with FTA regulations.
• Conduct audits to maintain financial accuracy and adhere to company policies.
• Regularly review bookkeeping to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Account Reconciliation & Financial Health:

• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely bank payments and efficient cash flow management.
• Manage balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and report on the company’s financial health and liquidity.
• Audit financial transactions and documents to maintain meticulous records.

Technical Proficiency & Confidentiality:

• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and secure sensitive information through database backups.
• Proficiently use Tally, Oracle, and Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in financial data handling.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in financial management and compliance, ideally within a fast-paced finance environment.
• Strong technical proficiency in Tally, Oracle, and Excel.
• In-depth understanding of FTA VAT regulations and DFSA compliance.
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience in the business setup industry is advantageous.
