Accountant

Hays is partnering with a growing FMCG distribution company in Saudi Arabia that is looking to appoint an Accountant to support and strengthen its finance function.

Role Overview

The Accountant will play a key role in managing end-to-end accounting activities while driving process improvement, automation, and policy implementation across the business. The role will work closely with the Accounting Manager and collaborate with Sales, Production, and IT teams to ensure efficient financial operations across multiple branches.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end general accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Design, implement, and document accounting policies and procedures across the organisation
• Create and automate accounting and finance processes in collaboration with the IT team
• Build accounting workflows and sequences within the system from scratch
• Work closely with the Sales and Accounting team.
• Receive and validate customer orders
• Ensure proper invoicing processes
• Track and control money received
• Strengthen revenue and collection controls
• Support accounting related to production and distribution operations
• Ensure strong internal controls across procurement, production, sales, and distribution
• Assist with month-end closing, reconciliations, and reporting
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes, bringing a creative and solutions-driven mindset

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong background in FMCG accounting and distribution environments
• Solid understanding of end-to-end accounting processes
• Proven experience in creating accounting processes from scratch
• Experience working on process automation and system implementation
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (Sales, IT, Operations)
• Creative, proactive, and improvement-focused mindset
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
