Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial operations for our automobile sales, service, and parts operations, with a strong focus on compliance and accurate reporting. The role involves maintaining financial records, overseeing inventory, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to UAE tax and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for vehicle sales, purchases, and expenses. Record all transactions in accounting software and track invoices, receipts, and supporting documents.
- General Ledger Management: Update, reconcile, and monitor the General Ledger. Ensure all accounts are properly categorized and balanced, and investigate discrepancies.
- Inventory Management: Track automobile and spare parts inventory, reconcile with physical stock, and conduct regular audits. Adjust records for discrepancies as needed.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process vendor invoices, customer payments, and receipts. Ensure timely payments and collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and reports tailored to automotive operations. Support management with relevant financial analysis.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, corporate tax, and other applicable tax regulations. Calculate, file, and reconcile tax returns accurately.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze costs related to vehicles, parts, maintenance, and labor to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimization.
- Audits & Regulatory Compliance: Support internal and external audits. Ensure adherence to accounting standards, industry best practices, and UAE regulatory requirements.
- Bank & Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements and other accounts to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Cross-Departmental Support: Collaborate with sales, procurement, and service teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in automotive or dealership operations
- Strong knowledge of GL, AP, AR, COGS, inventory accounting, and financial reporting
- Hands-on experience with UAE VAT and corporate tax compliance
- Familiarity with ERP and accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of automotive industry practices and regulations is a plus
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
