Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for handling the complete accounting cycle, maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting management with accurate financial reporting and insights. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in accounting practices and the ability to work in a structured institutional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage full-cycle accounting operations (general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations)

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable

Handle payroll processing and staff expense management

Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards

Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities

Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with tax-related matters

Monitor cash flow and provide financial analysis to support decision-making

Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures

Support management with financial insights and cost-control strategies

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Minimum 3–7 years of proven experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant

Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax regulations

Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, or ERP systems)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to handle confidential information with integrity

Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification such as B.Com, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent

Experience working in an educational institute or service-based organization

Familiarity with UAE VAT regulations and compliance
