Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various accounting functions across the organization. Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Perform account reconciliations for general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
• Conduct detailed journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping to record financial transactions accurately.
• Oversee payroll management using systems like ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or UltiPro, ensuring timely processing and compliance with tax regulations.
• Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities, including experience with tax software and understanding of governmental accounting standards.
• Support internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and assist in audits by providing necessary documentation.
• Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy, including account analysis and account reconciliation activities.
• Contribute to budgeting processes and financial analysis to support organizational planning efforts.
• Maintain detailed records of financial transactions and ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.

Experience

• Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial concepts essential for accurate reporting.
• Hands-on experience with various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos or similar systems.
• Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Workday is highly desirable.
• Experience working with financial software for balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, journal entries and general ledger accounting.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and experience supporting tax-related activities is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability in data entry accuracy, double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and account analysis.
• Previous exposure to public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus but not required.

Pay: $61,440.33 - $73,992.65 per year
