Our Auburn-based CPA Firm is seeking an accounting professional with advanced General Ledger expertise who excels at uncovering errors, resolving structural discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with Washington State reporting requirements. You would be in great company, joining our team of 17 talented professionals who support an extraordinary and diverse group of clients across South King County, Washington, Alaska, and beyond.

Position Overview

This person will support multiple business clients by identifying, reconciling, and correcting complex discrepancies across the GL, restoring books to accurate, tax compliance-ready condition.

Strong working knowledge of Washington State agency regulations is required to ensure compliance and reporting integrity. You will partner closely with CPAs and clients to resolve issues, implement corrections, and maintain reliable financial records that support tax preparation and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and remediate discrepancies in client financial records to ensure tax compliance readiness
• Prepare and file Washington State payroll, excise, B&O, and personal property tax returns
• Communicate with clients regarding financial questions and documentation
• Train and troubleshoot with client bookkeepers
• Assist and mentor junior bookkeeping staff

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Full-Charge Bookkeeper
• Experience managing multiple clients preferred
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, retained earnings and GL structure
• Comprehension of WA State Department of Revenue and payroll agency regulations
• Experience with:

o QuickBooks Desktop & Online

o Xero

o Microsoft Excel

o Microsoft Word

o Third party payroll platforms (ADP, Paychex, Gusto)

o Third party sales platforms (e.g., Shopify, Square, Amazon, TikTok)
