Job Description
The Accounting unit is responsible for accounts payable, financial reporting and maintaining all financial related controls pertaining to the Fund, in compliance with governing accounting standards.

Under the direction of the Director of Accounting, this candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of investment statements, preparation of investment reports, performing analyses and assessing data quality. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly/annual financial reports;
  • Perform all Accounts Payable related duties;
  • Perform audit procedures to ensure all controls are in place;
  • Perform difficult arithmetical computations;
  • Monitor and manage cash balances available for investment; recommend investment of the Funds balances based on cash needs of the Pension Fund;
  • Present financials reports and various other related projects to management;
  • Enter journal entries into the accounting software;
  • Participate in annual audit and follow-up with all audit requests;
  • Investigate/Resolve any variances related to financial reports;
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures to improve unit workflow and efficiency;
  • Work on special projects and other ad hoc projects as designated by Unit Supervisor and the Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO).

Salary: The hiring rate being offered for this position is $62,517. If you possess the preferred skills above, consideration will be given to offer you a maximum annual salary of no more than $71,894. The salary is non-negotiable.

NOTE: This is a full-time on-site position where you will be required to report to the office five (5) days a week for training purposes. After successfully completing training, you may be considered for telework.

Minimum Qualifications


A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; or

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full- time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area.

An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above.

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above.

A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to “1”, “2”, “3”, or “4” above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma.

- Excellent analytical, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills - Strong computer skills, including fluency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
