Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for directly providing support to the Controller in overseeing the financial operations of Title Guaranty of Guam, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing internal and external financial reports, and supporting strategic initiatives of both the company and its parent organization, Calvo Enterprises, Inc. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of accounting practices in the title and escrow industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Primary duties and responsibilities are to perform a wide range of administrative duties to gather information and assist in the escrow process. Must communicate, via various electronic medium or communication platforms, all requirements and other information to clients, partners, and internal team members

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Assist Controller to oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, escrow accounting, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to CEI corporate and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide analysis to support business decisions.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in leading the annual budgeting process and mid-year forecasts.
  • Track budget performance and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with operational leadership to develop and manage financial strategies.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Assist Controller to ensure compliance with local and federal regulatory requirements specific to the title and escrow industry.
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and insurance renewals.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risk.
  • Support compliance with CEI’s internal policies and procedures.

Escrow Accounting Oversight

  • Supervise assigned escrow trust account reconciliations and ensure compliance with fiduciary obligations.
  • Coordinate with title officers and escrow personnel to ensure proper fund disbursement and accounting.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Assist Controller in supervising and mentoring accounting and finance staff.
  • Help oversee staff performance reviews, training, and development.
  • Promote cross-training to ensure business continuity and process efficiency.

Qualifications/Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in escrow or real estate finance strongly preferred.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with title insurance accounting, escrow trust accounting, and regulatory reporting.
  • Prior experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Qualia, or similar.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity corporate environment.

Expected to develop proficiency with use of company software, spreadsheets, internet software, E-mail, order processing, windows, and scanning machines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
