ACCOUNTANT

Requirements:

1. Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2. Experience

• 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Experience with project accounting, cost tracking, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports.

3. Technical Skills

• Proficiency in accounting software like Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Familiarity with UAE VAT laws and IFRS standards.

4. Soft Skills

• Strong attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication skills for liaising with suppliers, project managers, and auditors.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
1. Project Costing & Budgeting

• Track and control project expenditures.
• Assist project managers in budget preparation and forecasting.
• Allocate costs to different job codes or project phases.

2. Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Handle supplier invoices and subcontractor payments:
• Match supplier invoices with POs and delivery notes.
• Verify subcontractor invoices against approved progress certificates.
• Ensure compliance with payment terms and contract conditions.
• Deduct retentions or advance recoveries as applicable.
• Record transactions accurately and prepare timely payments.
• Maintain supplier and subcontractor ledgers and reconcile monthly.
• Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding client payments.

3. Banking & Cash Flow

• Manage company bank accounts, cash flow forecasts, and reconciliations.
• Handle petty cash and site-level expenses.

4. General Ledger & Reporting

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and journal postings.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Assist with internal and external audits.

5. VAT & Compliance

• Prepare and file UAE VAT returns.
• Ensure compliance with all UAE accounting and tax regulations.

6.Inventory and Asset Management

• Track construction materials inventory.
• Record asset purchases and depreciation.
