Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting entries.
- Handle daily petty cash transactions and prepare petty cash reports.
- Record and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.
- Maintain VAT records and supporting documentation for audits and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and payment vouchers.
- Assist in payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Prepare financial reports and management reports as required.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities when necessary.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
- Support the Finance Department in administrative and accounting functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
- Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and tax filing procedures.
- Experience in handling petty cash and daily accounting transactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Understanding of UAE financial and legal compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction, contracting, or engineering companies.
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, or similar software.
