Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage and oversee the complete accounting operations of our contracting company in Dubai. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of UAE accounting practices, contracting/project accounting, VAT compliance, and hands-on experience using Zoho Books and related Zoho applications. The candidate should be capable of independently handling the company's full accounting cycle and financial reporting requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Finance
- Manage the complete accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliation, and Journal Entries.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance.
- Reconcile supplier, customer, and subcontractor accounts.
Contracting & Project Accounting
- Track project costs, revenues, and profitability for multiple construction and fit-out projects.
- Monitor project budgets and prepare cost analysis reports.
- Manage subcontractor payments, retention accounts, and project-related financial documentation.
- Verify project invoices, payment certificates, and progress billings.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
VAT & Compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and tax requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all UAE statutory and financial regulations.
Zoho ERP / Accounting System
- Fully operate and maintain Zoho Books and other relevant Zoho applications.
- Configure and manage chart of accounts, projects, customers, vendors, and financial workflows within Zoho.
- Generate financial reports, dashboards, and management insights using Zoho.
Administrative & Reporting
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, suppliers, customers, and government authorities when required.
- Assist management with financial planning, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Ensure timely processing of payroll, employee expenses, and company payments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience within a contracting, construction, fit-out, or engineering company.
- Strong practical experience with Zoho Books and Zoho ecosystem applications.
- Excellent knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in project costing, WIP reporting, retention accounting, and subcontractor management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage the company's accounting function with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, ACCA, CMA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience with ERP implementation and process improvement.
- Experience handling audits and financial controls within contracting companies.
Pay: AED1,500.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
