Bachelor's degree in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR Bachelor's degree to include 9 semester credits in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR one year of satisfactory performance as an Accountant 1 in the County service is required; OR five years of Accounting experience may substitute for the required four year of college education.

The Accountant 2 is an advanced professional accounting position responsible for the reporting, collections, system error resolution, and financial auditing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing key financial reports such as aging schedules, scorecards, and reconciliations, as well as monitoring and reconciling accounts in INFORMS. This role handles the full spectrum of collections efforts, from identifying delinquent accounts to issuing statements and communicating with customers. Additionally, the Accountant 2 is responsible for identifying and resolving INFORMS system errors, auditing invoice entries, ensuring compliance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board requirements, and assisting with year-end journal entries. This position plays a key role in maintaining data integrity, supporting collections, and ensuring financial reporting accuracy.

People and Internal Operations Department (PIOD) provides a wide range of internal support services for the ongoing operation of County government which focuses on promoting operational best practices and efficient government operations. PIOD provides employee and customer-based business services including centralized human resources, facility management, design and construction management, fleet management, risk management, surplus property disposition services, capital inventory management, and largescale printing services. Through these various business lines, PIOD is engaged in real estate development and management, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, materials management, and parking services.
