HIRING RANGE: $5,933 - $6,678 monthly

About the Position:
The Accountant Analyst will perform professional accounting and payroll duties encompassing financial analysis, payroll administration, record-keeping, and reporting across City departments. Responsibilities include payroll reconciliation, payroll tax reporting, benefits and deduction administration, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial analysis, support of payroll processing, and preparation of accurate and timely financial reports across multiple City departments and funds. The position will also support compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, internal controls, and auditing requirements while ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial and payroll data.

What You'll Do:

  • Process and reconcile payroll, deductions, benefits, and related records.

  • Prepare payroll tax filings and labor reports in compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Analyze payroll and financial data and resolve discrepancies.

  • Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Enter, maintain, and analyze data within financial and payroll systems; generate reports as needed.

  • Research and respond to payroll, accounting, and financial questions from departments.

  • Prepare accurate financial, payroll, and audit support reports.

What We're Looking For:

  • Two (2) years of professional accounting experience; government accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license.

Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
