Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our Property Management team. You will manage a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. You will support our organization’s financial health by maintaining precise books, preparing reports, and assisting with audits and reconciliations. Duties
- Maintain and update tenant and owner ledgers using accounting/management software such as AppFolio
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of cash flow records through meticulous bank statement matching
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections
- Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Support budgeting activities by analyzing financial data and preparing relevant reports
Requirements
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting environments with familiarity in governmental accounting practices
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools; experience with Quicken is a plus
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles for accurate financial reporting
- Excellent skills in account analysis, financial report writing, and bank reconciliation procedures
- Experience with payroll processing, tax compliance, and governmental reporting requirements is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as accounts payable/receivable management and budget analysis simultaneously
- High level of accuracy with 10 key typing skills for data entry tasks

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
