Accountant – Dubai, UAE

Position Overview
Our client, a well-established organization operating within the production, fabrication, fit-out, and event solutions space, is seeking to recruit an Accountant to join its finance team in Dubai.
The role is suited for a detail-oriented professional with solid accounting foundations and the ability to operate within a fast-paced, project-driven environment. The successful candidate will support daily accounting activities, ensure accuracy in financial records, and contribute to financial reporting and compliance processes.
This position offers strong exposure to operational accounting within a dynamic business environment, with a particular emphasis on system-driven processes.

1. Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
– Record daily accounting transactions including invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries.
– Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
– Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
– Ensure proper classification and recording of financial transactions.

Payables & Receivables
– Process supplier invoices and manage payment cycles.
– Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances.
– Perform reconciliations of suppliers and clients.
– Maintain updated aging reports.

Bank & Cash Management
– Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
– Support monitoring of cash flow and financial movements.

Project & Cost Accounting
– Track and allocate project-related costs (materials, subcontractors, production).
– Assist in monitoring budgets and identifying variances.
– Support cost control across multiple projects.

Compliance & Documentation
– Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and assist in VAT filings.
– Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
– Support preparation of financial reports and audit documentation.

Systems & Process
– Work on ERP systems for accounting entries and reporting.
– Utilize Odoo ERP (preferred) or similar systems for financial operations.
– Contribute to improving processes and reporting efficiency.

2. Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
– 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
– Experience within the UAE is preferred.
– Exposure to project-based, manufacturing, fit-out, or events environments is an advantage.

3. Skills & Competencies
– Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
– Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Receivable, and bank reconciliation.
– Familiarity with UAE VAT regulations.
– Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
– Experience with ERP systems is required.
– Odoo ERP experience is highly preferred (priority).
