Job Title: Accountant

Reporting To: Regional Finance Manager / Country Manager
Position Overview:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards, taxation laws, and company policies. The role requires hands-on experience in general accounting, payables, receivables, reconciliations, and month-end reporting, as well as coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Maintain and update general ledger, journals, and financial statements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure accurate posting of all transactions in compliance with IFRS and Saudi regulations.
- Support the preparation of management reports and financial analysis.
2. Payables & Receivables Management
- Verify, record, and reconcile vendor invoices and payments.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
- Coordinate with operations and customer service teams for billing accuracy.
3. Bank & Cash Management
- Prepare daily cash flow reports and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely deposits, fund transfers, and expense settlements.
- Maintain petty cash and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
4. Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with ZATCA (Saudi Tax Authority) for VAT, WHT, and e-invoicing requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary schedules and documentation.
- Maintain proper internal controls and adherence to Compass group accounting policies.
5. Cost Control & Analysis
- Support cost analysis for logistics, freight, and customs operations.
- Monitor operating expenses and highlight variances to management.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or SOCPA) required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in logistics, freight forwarding, or shipping industry.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi VAT and WHT regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (CargoWise, Tally, or similar).
- Excellent skills in MS Excel and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
