Job Title: Accountant

Department: Finance
Location: Saudi Arabia
Reporting To: Regional Finance Manager / Country Manager

Position Overview:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards, taxation laws, and company policies. The role requires hands-on experience in general accounting, payables, receivables, reconciliations, and month-end reporting, as well as coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Maintain and update general ledger, journals, and financial statements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure accurate posting of all transactions in compliance with IFRS and Saudi regulations.
  • Support the preparation of management reports and financial analysis.

2. Payables & Receivables Management

  • Verify, record, and reconcile vendor invoices and payments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Coordinate with operations and customer service teams for billing accuracy.

3. Bank & Cash Management

  • Prepare daily cash flow reports and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely deposits, fund transfers, and expense settlements.
  • Maintain petty cash and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.

4. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with ZATCA (Saudi Tax Authority) for VAT, WHT, and e-invoicing requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary schedules and documentation.
  • Maintain proper internal controls and adherence to Compass group accounting policies.

5. Cost Control & Analysis

  • Support cost analysis for logistics, freight, and customs operations.
  • Monitor operating expenses and highlight variances to management.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or SOCPA) required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in logistics, freight forwarding, or shipping industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi VAT and WHT regulations.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (CargoWise, Tally, or similar).
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
