Job Summary
The Receivable Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection of payments, maintaining accurate customer accounts, and supporting cash flow management. The role requires strong attention to detail, follow-up skills, and coordination with sales and finance teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable Management
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, credit notes, and debit notes.
- Ensure invoices are accurate and supported by approved LPOs and delivery notes.
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure payments are received on time.
- Record and allocate incoming payments correctly in the accounting system.
- Reconcile customer statements and resolve discrepancies.
Collection & Follow-Up
- Follow up with customers for outstanding payments via email and phone.
- Maintain updated aging reports (weekly/monthly).
- Escalate long overdue accounts to management.
- Coordinate with the sales team for payment collection support.
Reconciliation & Reporting
- Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable aging report.
- Reconcile customer accounts regularly.
- Assist in monthly closing and audit requirements.
- Provide reports on credit limits and outstanding balances.
Credit Control
- Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms.
- Flag high-risk accounts to management.
- Support in evaluating new customer credit applications.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain proper filing of invoices, contracts, and payment records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and VAT regulations.
- Assist in VAT-related documentation for receivable transactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable.
- Experience in trading or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
- Good knowledge of VAT regulations in the UAE.
