Company Description

Wilson Miller & Company LLC is a small design/build firm specializing in the remodeling, restoration, and addition of homes on both land and water. We work throughout Seattle, with a focus on the historic residences of Capitol Hill and the city’s floating homes.

Role Description

We’re currently hiring a part-time Accounting & HR Manager to help manage our financial operations and keep our administrative processes running smoothly. This hybrid role includes three days in-office and one remote day per week (after training), and is ideal for a reliable, adaptable professional who thrives in a flexible, design-focused environment where independence and attention to detail are appreciated.

Responsibilities

· Oversee accounts payable: ensure timely payments and maintain strong vendor relationships

  • Manage accounts receivable: prepare invoices, communicate with clients, monitor aging reports, and track incoming cash flow
  • Maintain the general ledger in QuickBooks Online: record transactions, journal entries, and reconcile accounts
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Coordinate biweekly payroll with external payroll provider; review employee time tracking
  • Administer HR functions: communicate job descriptions, manage performance reviews, and maintain employee records
  • Handle insurance and compliance: manage workers’ comp claims, review liability certificates, and serve as point of contact for commercial, auto, and health insurance
  • Calculate and remit state and local excise taxes
  • Ensure compliance with W9 documentation and annual 1099 filings

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping role
  • Bachelor's degree or certification in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field
  • In depth accounting, payroll, and financial knowledge with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong understanding of payroll, HR documentation, and compliance
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a hybrid environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
