Accounting AP/AR Manager

The Accounting AP/AR Manager will oversee and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within a professional services environment, with a specialized focus on construction accounting. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, preferably within the construction or professional services industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and job costing.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems relevant to the industry.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing an accounting team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
• Experience with advanced construction accounting software such as Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate or Viewpoint.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and tax requirements specific to the construction industry.
• Experience implementing process improvements and automation within AP/AR functions.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in financial reporting and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the daily operations of accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing invoices and payments.
• Oversee construction-specific accounting tasks such as job cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition in compliance with industry standards.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain accounting ethics and internal controls within the AP/AR functions.
• Coordinate with project managers and external vendors to resolve billing disputes and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports related to accounts payable and receivable, providing insights to senior management for decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and train accounting staff to enhance their skills and ensure adherence to best practices and software utilization.
• Collaborate with the finance department to support month-end and year-end closing activities and audits.
