Position Summary:
Fortna Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to support the Controller in managing key accounting functions across our operations. This role will play a critical part in the monthly close process, managing sales tax compliance, booking payroll-related journal entries, and supporting financial audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, foreign exchange, and transfer pricing, with a proven ability to operate in a complex, multi-entity, multi-currency environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with a solid foundation in GAAP, sales tax compliance, and monthly close procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- 
Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- 
Prepare and book journal entries, including payroll-related entries and intercompany transactions.
- 
Maintain the general ledger and ensure alignment with U.S. GAAP standards and prepare and review Balance sheet reconciliations.
- 
Utilize Planful to support the financial reporting process
- 
Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions; manage sales tax filings and related documentation.
- 
Support foreign exchange accounting and help manage the impact of currency fluctuations on financial reporting.
- 
Assist in transfer pricing documentation and intercompany accounting across international entities.
- 
Provide schedules and documentation to support the external audit process; respond timely to auditor inquiries.
- 
Support the implementation, maintenance, documentation, and monitoring of internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial information
- 
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations
- 
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, project controls, and operations to support financial reporting needs.
- 
Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- 
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 
CPA strongly preferred (or actively pursuing).
- 
4+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- 
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, foreign exchange, transfer pricing, and sales tax regulations.
- 
Experience with month-end close and journal entry preparation.
- 
Experience with payroll accounting and related journal entries.
- 
Familiarity with Planful or similar financial planning and reporting tools.
- 
Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with Infor LN, MS Dynamics, a plus
- 
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
The base salary range for this role is $87,600 to $131,300. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
