Accounting Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

We are a mid-sized manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and financial reporting. This position plays a key role in managing the general ledger, supervising accounting staff, and supporting payroll, compliance, and financial processes.

This is a broad role ideal for someone who enjoys variety and ownership in a smaller organization.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Maintain and oversee general ledger accounting
  • Manage month-end close and financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Process expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and account adjustments
  • Process bi-weekly payroll
  • Supervise Accounting Assistant
  • Process sales and use tax filings
  • Manage accounts payable approvals and vendor files
  • Monitor cash balances and customer credit limits
  • Assist with annual audit and property tax filings
  • Support HR-related administration (benefits questions, employee records, workers’ compensation)
  • Support special projects and other duties as needed

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA a plus
  • 10+ years accounting experience
  • Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
