Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager will lead the financial reporting and monthly close process within a complex, multi-plant manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely financial statements, strengthening internal controls, and driving process standardization. The Accounting Manager will serve as a key cross-functional leader with coordination across the A/R, A/P, FP&A, and Cost Accounting to ensure alignment between transactional activity and financial reporting. This is a high-visibility role with significant exposure to executive leadership.
Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting and Close Leadership
- Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Assist with timely preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Oversee complex accounting areas including inventory, revenue recognition, accruals, and reserves.
- Perform detailed balance sheets reviews and trend analysis.
- Prepare executive-level reporting packages and financial analytics.
- Coordinate external audit activities and manage audit deliverables.
- Manufacturing and Inventory Oversight
- Oversee inventory valuation and cost accounting accuracy.
- Ensure integrity of standard costing and variance analysis.
- Monitor and analyze labor, overhead, and material variances.
- Oversee physical inventory processes and internal control procedures.
- Support working capital optimization initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Align A/R processes with revenue reporting and credit risk management.
- Align A/P processes with accrual accuracy and working capital goals.
- Collaborate with FP&A to ensure clean, reliable financial data for forecasting and budgeting.
- Ensure cost accounting integrates effectively with financial reporting.
- Internal Controls and Policy Development
- Strengthen and formalize accounting policies and procedures.
- Document and standardize close processes.
- Enhance segregation of duties and control environment.
- Prepare organization for increasing audit complexity as the company scales.
- ERP Transformation and Systems Leadership
- Play a leadership role in ERP evaluation, selection, and implementation.
- Lead documentation of current-state processes and design of future-state workflows.
- Support transition to a scalable platform.
- Drive automation, system integration, and reporting enhancements.
- Ensure system readiness for multi-currency and international reporting requirements.
- European Expansion Readiness
- Assist in establishing accounting processes to support European operations.
- Support multi-entity and multi-currency accounting structures.
- Help evaluate VAT, transfer pricing, and cross-border reporting considerations (in partnership with tax advisors).
- Ensure internal controls and reporting processes scale globally.
- Team Development
- Mentor and develop accounting staff.
- Establish performance standards and accountability.
- Promote a culture of ownership, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications Required:- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and inventory accounting.
- Demonstrated experience leading financial close in a complex environment.
- Proven ability to document policies and build scalable processes.
- Strong systems aptitude and process improvement mindset.
Qualifications Preferred:- CPA designation.
- Experience leading or supporting ERP implementation.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Exposure to international operations or multi-currency environments.
- Background in multi-entity consolidation.

The Anticipated Pay Range for This Position: $115K-130K annually
