Accounting Manager Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.


Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement accounting procedures and controls to improve efficiency
  • Oversee and Supervise Accounts Payable Department
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions for assigned portfolio
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Assist in variance analysis to explain differences between budgeted and actual figures
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
  • Assist with Corporate Accounting functions
  • Assist with Payroll, payroll reporting and billbacks
  • Coordinate with property managers to address financial queries and issues
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and real estate industry trends
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills, Abilities and Knowledge Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Experience with property management software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in property accounting or real estate finance
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
