We are currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of our financial data, and contributing to the strategic financial planning of the company.

Responsibilities

* Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
* Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
* Lead the financial management of projects, including detailed job costing, budget tracking, and variance analysis to ensure project profitability.
* Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance.
* Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as required.
* Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax filing requirements.
* Analyse financial performance and provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
* Proven experience working as an Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or in a similar senior accounting position.
* Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
* Strong proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities with a high attention to detail.
* A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA) is highly desirable.
* Previous experience in the construction, roofing, or a related project-based industry would be a significant advantage.
