Accounting Manager, Operations Accounting

Responsibilities
The Corporate Accounting Department at Oaktree is seeking an Accounting Manager with a focus on corporate accounting operations.
Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee the daily accounting operations: cash reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, debt & interest income, business tax, compensation and benefits including payroll, equity and incentive compensations.
  • Develop relationships and work closely with business partners including Treasury, Fund Accounting and Expense & Allocation Management Department, Compensation Operation to ensure smooth execution of cash posting, fund billing, fund refund, write offs, fund liquidation processes and payroll entries.
  • Manage operation accounting team in India, provide technical directions for daily accounting activities, and ensure timely and accurate maintenance of accounting records.
  • Participate in the month-end and quarter-end close process, including posting of accruals, account reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, and preparation of management reports.
  • Review financial calculations and account analysis; create robust supporting schedules for assigned accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in cash posting, bank reconciliation and other operational processes of Workday.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors in annual audits and complete requests related to the role of subject matter expertise.
  • Perform certain key internal control processes.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting, operational accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting, operations, account analysis, and management reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of business operations and linkage to accounting in order to initiate and lead process improvements and documentation of standard operating procedures.
  • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
  • Specific experience with Workday systems a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (and/or equivalent experience). CPA or MBA preferred.
