Oversee and Manage the accounting department's activities, resources, and staff to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
Supervise and Control the preparation and posting of all accounting transactions, including payment requests, journal vouchers, credit/debit notes, and monthly provisions.
Approve accounting transactions and their general ledger distribution within designated limits.
Ensure the accurate maintenance and integrity of all accounting records, books, registers, ledgers, and files.
Reporting & Compliance
Drive the accurate, timely, and speedy completion of month-end and year-end book closing processes.
Develop and use a monthly closing checklist, reconcile control accounts to sub-ledgers, identify and resolve inconsistencies, and prepare related reports.
Monitor and enforce strict compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and external financial standards (e.g., IAS, GAAP, or applicable standards).
Prepare work papers and supporting schedules necessary for the annual financial review.
Distribute monthly comparison and cost center reports to internal stakeholders according to established schedules.
Review, investigate, and correct any errors or inconsistencies found in financial entries, documents, or reports.
Leadership & Strategic Advisory
Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert, assisting and training accounting employees on critical functions and technical accounting matters.
Provide professional advice and analysis to the Directors and Senior Managers on matters of financial accounting, internal control, cost reduction strategies, and other financial priorities.
